About: Chris Englert, the Walking Traveler, believes walking is the platform for life. Volunteered into wander-lusting at age 5, she’s since traveled all 50 US states and 50 countries. Chris, also advocates for safer walking environments in and around her home community as an America Walks Walking Fellow. She shares her love of walking and traveling via blogs, books, and presentations. A natural storyteller, she invites you along as she explores the world, one walk at a time.
Through her EatWalkLearn platform, Chris puts together excellent curated walks focused on educational and cultural themes. In Denver as Denver’s Urban Hiker (@urbanhikingDEN) she’s the local expert on all 78 Denver neighborhoods and on the Denver Regional Trail System, including the Sand Creek Trail, Cherry Creek Trail, Platte River Trail, High Line Canal Trail, and 9 Creeks Loop. Chris also leads global walking vacations, with upcoming trips to Oaxaca, Scotland and Ireland.
1.) Denver Day Walks Generally 3-5 miles, these walks amble through urban or suburban areas, focusing on the unique history and culture of the area while also tasting food or flavors within the area.
2.) Walking Vacations Multiple-day, themed walks covering 20-30 miles, expect to learn something new and try some new tastes either in Denver, nationally, or globally. These walking vacations focus on themes, require day packs, and stay in B&B type locations.
3.) Corporate Walks and Retreats Shorter walks or hikes created for your group’s unique interests (such as planning, Shriners, literature, transportation, teens, etc) these specialized walks provide your retreat, conference or get-together something a bit more dynamic and creative than sitting in another meeting or session. Customized to your needs, Chris will meet with your corporate leadership and bring a walking platform for creativity.
