Segment 12 of 14. Miles 56-61. On this segment, we’ll cross Colfax several times as we make our way to the Norfolk Glen and beyond. Nestled up next to Star K Ranch, we’ll have the chance to see many birds of prey and the Canal will travel with us the entire way as we leave suburban Aurora. Goat farms, go-cart farms, and all types of variety will show itself to us on our walking adventure. We continue through the Prairie Retreat Zone.
Walk Leader: Josh Phillips, and enthusiastic Walking Movement Leader from the High Line Canal Conservancy will lead this walk. You can reach him at 802-598-2664 or [email protected]
Meeting Location: Park at the end of the segment at Chambers Centre, 15240 E 6th Ave, Aurora, CO in Sav a Lot parking lot. We will meet at the end of the segment, park, and then carpool to the beginning of the segment. Please be parked and ready to walk at 7:20 am. We will leave no later than 7:35 to the starting destination.
Carpool to Here: Park 1780 Andes St, Aurora. This is a neighborhood, so please be kind and quiet as we gather. We will walk the segment together. At the end of the walk, we will carpool back to the beginning of the segment to return people to their cars.
Teamwork: In order for us to have a great time, enjoy the segment, and get everyone to the beginning and ends, we must work as a team. Patience, guidance and erring on the side of positivity are crucial for a successful and joyful segment.
Restrooms: There are restrooms at the Sav A Lot grocery store.
Driving Liability: If you are not comfortable carpooling, please make other arrangements to meet us at the start of the walk and for you to depart the walk. Alternatively, you can take a Lyft.
