Denver’s Neighborhoods (W&T)

April 24, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 10:00am on Monday and Thursday, repeating until June 1, 2017

TYPE: W&T (repeating) | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Some hills, paved & unpaved trails | DISTANCE: Approx. 2-5 mi |

Walk Description: Denver has 78 recognized neighborhoods, and we’re going to walk each one in alphabetical order from January to June on Mondays and Thursdays. Ranging from 2-5 miles, each walk will meander through the neighborhood, walking past relevant features of the neighborhood. Each time we get together, we will walk a new neighborhood. Each walk will loop for about 2-5 miles, mostly with designated routes, but we may veer off and explore as the neighborhood invites us to turn left or right. Your local knowledge of the neighborhood is welcomed.

Expect spontaneity, randomness, and possibly getting lost!

– Schedule & Meeting Location: All walks leave at 10 am on the designated day. The meeting location will be posted in MEETUP at least one day before the walk. Please sign up in Meetup for the latest details and logistics. We will be walking the neighborhoods in alphabetical order, possibly combining adjoining neighborhoods. We will shoot for each walk to be about 3 miles and no more than 1 1/2 hours. Details for each walk, as posted, will specify length and starting points.

We will walk the neighborhoods in roughly this order:

Athmar Park, Auraria, Baker, Barnum (Barnum West), Bear Valley, Belcaro, Berkeley, Capitol Hill (North Capitol Hill), City Park, City Park West, Civic Center (CBD), Chaffee Park, Cheesman Park, Clayton, Cole, College View, Congress Park, Country Club, Cory-Merrill, DIA, East Colfax, Elyria Swansea, Five Points, Fort Logan, Globeville, Goldsmith, Green Valley Ranch, Hale, Harvey Park, Harvey Park South, Highland, Hilltop, Indian Creek, Jefferson Park, Kennedy, Lowry, Mar Lee, Marston, Montclair, North Park Hill, Northeast Park Hill, Overland, Platt Park, Regis, Rosedale, Ruby Hill, Skyland, Southmore Park, Sloan Lake, South Park Hill, Speer, Stapleton, Sunnyside, Sun Valley, Union Station, University, University Hills, University Park, Valverde, Villa Park, Virginia Village, Washington Virginia Vale Wash Park, Wash Park West, Wellshire, West Colfax, Westwood, Windsor.
