W&T: Love Walk- No Strings Attached
February 14, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pmFree
TYPE: Walk & Talk | PACE: Slow & Conversational | TERRAIN: Urban, sidewalks | DIFFICULTY: Easy | DISTANCE: Approx. 2 miles
The Walk: The 2nd Annual, Love Walk: No Strings Attached is is an opportunity to expand to whom and how we give love on a day that’s typically reserved for the love of couples. So if you’re a single person, married for 50 years, a young lad, a wise older woman, or a single parent with kids, we want you to join us and spread ripples of love through acts of kindness with no strings attached. (Here’s a little refresher on the many forms of love, from the Ancient Greeks)
How: How do we give out love, for free, no strings attached? Well, that’s where you, the walker comes in. You might consider how you like to receive love. For example, if you like to get hugs you might make a sign and offer free hugs along the route. Some of you might like to receive gifts, so you could give some out like flowers, Hershey kisses, or even something handmade along the route. Maybe you like to be told that you are loved. If that’s the case you could bring a musical instrument and sing songs along the route. These are just examples, it’s up to you to choose how you want to express love to the strangers we encounter along our path. We’ll be providing sidewalk chalk and bubbles. You might enjoy reading about how others have given love, no strings attached here and here.
Schedule & Meeting Location: We will meet at 11:00am in the front of the Union Station doors at the 17th & Wynkoop entrance, share our plans and best practices approaching strangers to express love, and go over the route. We’ll leave no later than 11:10am. We’ll be doing approximately a 2-mile loop up and down the 16th street mall, stopping often to share our love.
Kids and Pets: This is absolutely a kid friendly walk however they must be accompanied by an adult at all times, especially if approaching strangers with their expression of love. This walk is not conducive to dogs.
Weather & Cancellation Policy: We are in winter, so please come prepared with enough layers and/or waterproof gear in case we do run into cold weather or snow. The walk will be canceled if a lot of ice is present. Walkers will be notified through Meetup or can send a text within an hour of the walk to Nicole at 650-279-1662.
Welcome Waiver: If this is your first walk with Walk2Connect or Wild Dream Walks this year, please fill out this Welcome Waiver online or print it and bring it with you.
Breaks, Restrooms: There will many places to stop for a bathroom or snack break.

Wild Dream Walks, a partner of Walk2Connect, designs opportunities for people to experience more love and friendship, on foot. While also listening for opportunities to walk down the path of people’s heartfelt dreams with them. We do this full time, as a gift. In the spirt of giving you might consider walking-it-forward through the support of future walks for a fellow dreamer. It is in this type of contribution that we can grow and support every dream that crosses our path. Thank you from the bottoms of our feet to the dreams in our heads.
