Pearl Street Sip & Stroll with Vessel (Boulder)

February 8 @ 8:00 am - 9:00 am

Free

TYPE: Program | PACE: Conversational/Exploratory | TERRAIN: Sidewalks, pedestrian street | DISTANCE: Approx. 1.2 miles |

Walk Description: Enjoy coffee at both ends of Pearl Street as we stroll along with Vessel on Winter Walk & Bike to Work Day! Vessel is Boulder’s innovative new answer to disposable coffee cup waste. With Vessel, you check out a stainless steel mug from participating cafes, just like you would check out a book from the library, and return it when you’re finished (no cost to you!). We’ll meet at Boxcar Coffee Roasters, where the Vessel team will orient us to how their system works and help us check out mugs for our morning coffee or tea. We’ll then walk down Pearl Street and on to Trident Cafe & Booksellers, where we can turn in our Vessels and get a fresh cup for the walk back. Come learn about this new concept in reusable cups, get some free goodies (including delicious Patagonia Provisions samples to try at home), and start your day in an active way!

Schedule, Transit and Planning: We’ll start and end at Boxcar Coffee Roasters, 1825 Pearl Street, at 8 a.m. Take the HOP bus to meet us there, or park in the 15th & Pearl parking garage (or along the street). Here’s a map of the two locations we’ll visit, starting at Boxcar on the right (east) and Trident on the left (west).

Walking Movement Leader: Darcy Kitching is one of the five core owners of the Walk2Connect Cooperative and is the co-op’s Collaborative Storyteller. Read Walk2Connect Stories here.

About Boulder Ramblers:

The Colorado-based Walk2Connect Cooperative works with individuals and organizations to create whole-health outcomes through innovative walking programs focused on connecting to others, to place and to self. Our Boulder community, Boulder Ramblers, offers a variety of local walks and hikes led by trained volunteer Walking Movement Leaders in Boulder, Longmont and Louisville. We also partner with GO Boulder to develop walking events that orient community members to the city’s pedestrian facilities and invite feedback about them. Across the Front Range, W2C principals and trained volunteer Walking Movement Leaders lead dozens of free community walks every week.
