Power Your Purpose – Breathe . Move . Connect . Meditate Retreat

TYPE: Walk and Yoga Event | PACE: Gentle/Conversational | TERRAIN: Mostly flat, sidewalks, dirt path in park | DISTANCE: Approx. 2.5 miles

Walk Description: During this walk/yoga morning retreat you will be introduced to the benefits of incorporating a healthy lifestyle of gentle yoga and walking to reduce anxiety and stress in all aspects of your life. During our first and second loop around Sunken Gardens Park (.8 mile) we will be experiencing the importance of yoga breathing, moving and stretching and walking by stopping in intervals doing short yoga sequences. The third loop you will walk around the park (.8 mile) at your own pace. We will end with a yoga cooldown, stretching and guided meditation in the park. 

Walking Movement Leader: Come learn and share the benefits of living a life of balance and wellness with Vicki Befort. Learn techniques on how to relax, reduce stress and increase your energy by combining the benefits of yoga with walking. As a yoga instructor with Comeback Yoga and recent graduate of the Living School, Vicki is combining her passion of practicing yoga and contemplation for 15 years with her lifetime passion of walking/hiking.

Parking: Parking available on street or West High School parking lot (951 Elati St., Denver, CO 80204). We will meet at the corner of 9th Avenue and Elati Street by Sunken Gardens Park. We will meet and end at the same place. Sunken Gardens Park at 401 W 9th Ave Denver, CO 80204  (https://www.mapquest.com/us/colorado/sunken-gardens-park-365473530)

Schedule and Planning:We will meet at the corner of 9 th Street and Elati Street. Please plan on arriving at 7:45am to check in, sign waivers, etc. We will begin walking to Sunken Gardens Park at 8:00 am and end at approximately noon. We plan on ending approximately at noon.

Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online Welcome Waiver or download, print, sign and turn in a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience this year.

 No dogs please!
 Accessibility: We will meet at the corner of 9th Street to Sunken Garden Park. The first and second loop around Sunken Gardens Park (.8 mile) will gentle walking, yoga stretching and exercises where we will be stopping in intervals doing short yoga and walking sequences. The third loop you will walk around the park (.8 mile) at your own pace. We will end with a yoga cool down, stretching and guided meditation in the park.  It is approximately .8 mile around the park for a total of approximately 2 – 2 ½ miles total.

 Restrooms are available at a neighboring coffee shop – Joe Maxx Coffee (869 N. Santa Fe Dr., Denver, CO 80204). Approximately at 9th Avenue and Santa Fe Drive (.25 from meeting place). Please plan accordingly
 Wear comfortable clothing that you can move and stretch in

 Bring sunscreen and comfortable walking shoes
 Bring a water bottle
Light, healthy snacks provided
