Walk Description: Sloan’s Lake Park is located on the northwest side of Denver next to Lakewood, Edgewater, and Wheat Ridge. In the mid to late 19th century, Sloan’s Lake was actually a thoroughfare called South Golden Road connecting Denver to Golden. In 1866, Thomas F. Sloan accidentally unearthed the lake while digging for a well. Over a century and a half later, Sloan’s Lake offers 177 acres of public park where residents can participate in an array of activities including hiking, jogging, biking trails which surround the lake. The lake itself hosts many activities including paddle boarding, fishing, boating, and water skiing.
Come join Walk2Connect every Tuesday at 6pm to explore Sloan’s Lake and meet your neighbors. This walk promises the most spectacular view of the sunset over the mountains and breath taking view of the city skyline. This a relaxed casual walk which follows the paved walking path around Sloan’s Lake.
