An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, repeating indefinitely
TYPE: Weekly | PACE: Gentle/Slow |TERRAIN: Flat, Paved, Urban | DIFFICULTY: Easy | DISTANCE: Approx. 3 miles
Walk Description: Let’s stroll through an area home to many cultures and nationalities. We’ll meet at a park named “New Freedom,” reflecting what many of the residents of this community were looking for when they arrived. We’ll be walking with folks who live here and who come from afar. Be prepared to encounter something new and enlightening.
We’ll walk rain or shine. If in doubt about weather, call me directly at 720-839-0120.
Walking Movement Leader: My name is Manley Daniel. I’m a Health Care Navigator for Mercy Housing Corporation. Health and wellness activities comprise a big part of my job at three of Mercys properties in Denver. I also lead a Monday walk in Capitol Hill.
What to Expect: Ample parking can be found on 13th Avenue or Xenia Street. We’ll start at Freedom Park with a brief description of the neighborhood and introductions of participants at 4:00 pm. We should leave no later than 4:10. Please come patient as this walk draws from a variety of living communities from different cultures. Please allow for some extra time. After a warm-up we’ll head for Verbena park with a couple of circuits there and will do our best to return by 5:00/5:15 pm.

-Restrooms are nearby in apartment complexes, none at park or on way.
