Walk Description: Do you work all week and look forward to Fridays when you can go home, relax and not have to be “on” for anyone? Do you like walking but not talking? If so, then please join me for the first Walk for Introverts of South Denver! This walk is relaxed, casual and most likely quiet as we tour the Bluffs Regional Park Trail in Lone Tree. No pressure to talk to anyone about anything, so come on out and get a relaxing start to your weekend!
The structure of the walking experience will generally follow the following format:
5:15 – 5:30 Gather, Introductions, Trail Etiquette
5:30 Start Walking
This is a multi-use trail, so we will follow trail etiquette and yield responsibly. For more information and a trail map, click here. Because this is a popular, multi-use trail, we will limit the walk to 10 participants.
Walking Movement Leader: Jen Grout is a new WML, and this is her first walk as a leader. When not walking, she works in IT and reads a lot of books.
Schedule & Meeting Location: We will meet at 5:15 pm at the main Bluff’s Park trail head parking lot off Crooked Stick Rd. which is behind and to the south of the Super Target at Lincoln & Ridgegate. Please give yourself plenty of time if you’re never been there. We will start the walk no later than 5:30 after introductions.
–Parking: Park at the trail head parking lot. Parking is free.
–Dog Friendly: Dogs are allowed, but must be on a 6′ leash only – no retractable leashes. Owners must clean up after their dogs – no exceptions, so please come prepared to pick it up and carry it out.
-Terrain: Easy with some hills, max of 200′ elevation gain, but grades may exceed 8% in short stretches.
– Trail Surface: soft surface/crushed rock and dirt
– Wear/Bring: comfortable shoes and socks, layers (it’s springtime in the Rockies!), plenty of water and snacks, hat and sunglasses and sunscreen.
-Breaks, Restrooms: Restrooms (porto-potties) are available at the trail head. There are no restrooms along the walk.
-Cancellation Policy: We will reschedule if the forecast looks like rain with lightning or other extreme weather. Check Meetup or text/call the walk leader for the most up-to-date conditions.
