Aurora Morning Amble (Aurora)
January 19 @ 7:00 am - 9:00 am
An event every week that begins at 7:00am on Saturday, repeating indefinitely
TYPE: STSP Weekly | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Mostly paved trail, some grass/dirt trail, some road | DISTANCE: Approx. 4.5 mi
** Starting on Saturday 5/12, we will be moving the start time of the walk back to 7:00. This time will continue through the summer months, so that we can get our walk in and beat the heat of the day. **
One of our longest-standing walks, rebooted with new walk leader Robin. Come and explore parts of the High Line Canal and Aurora city streets and the Delaney Farm area. We have a wide range of wonderful participants including a host of friendly and welcoming regulars, and new walkers are arriving all the time!
Walk Leader: A long-time walker of this route, Robin recently took this walk over from Donna. She’s enjoying leading the Aurora Amble 2.0. If you have questions or concerns about weather you can text Robin at 7 two zero-3 four 1-2 two nine 5.
Schedule & Parking: We will meet at 8:30 am in front of the Aurora Central Library. There is plenty of parking in the lot. We’ll introduce ourselves, and answer any questions you might have. Please plan to arrive a few minutes before 8:30 am as we will leave NO LATER than 8:35 am. We should be done walking no later than 10:00 am. You may use the restroom in the library before and after the walk.
— Dogs welcome – We will be walking a loop going back to our starting location. Please consider whether your dog can handle 4 miles when walking in this season and insure that your dog is calm, and well-behaved. They MUST stay leashed. Please be sure to bring baggies.
— Restrooms available before and after the walk at the library.
— Consider bringing comfortable socks and shoes, a light backpack with water and a snack if you like (we will take a short break half way through the walk to have a drink and to sit if you need to). Dress accordingly for temperature and weather, and bring sunglasses or hat and sunscreen as there is not much shade on the path. Bring a camera if you have one, we do see wildlife regularly.
Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online “Welcome Waiver” or download, print, sign and bring a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience this year. If this is your first time walking with this trip leader, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to connect and learn more about the walk.
Welcome Waivers: Please fill out the online “Welcome Waiver” or download, print, sign, and turn in a hard copy if this will be your first Walk2Connect walking experience this year. If this is your first time walking with this trip leader, please arrive 5 to 10 minutes early to connect and learn more about the walk.
RSVP: You can RSVP one of two ways 1) On our Aurora Amble Meetup page 2) Texting Robin at 7 two zero-3 four 1-2 two nine 5.
You are welcome to text me (Robin) in the morning to check status or confirm the walk is going. But remember, no news is good news and we go unless otherwise notified. Know that I enjoy walking in cool and rainy weather, and it will have to be VERY cold or EXTREMELY wet for me to cancel. An umbrella and waterproof boots are great friends on a rainy walk!
Hope to see you there!
