Join us for the 2018 Connection Challenge!
We are excited offer a specialized training to develop Walk2Connect Walking Movement Leaders who will be developed to lead whole-health walking events in partnership with the High Line Canal Conservancy. These leaders will be invited into Walk2Connect’s growing pool of leaders while also being a part of focused volunteer/outreach opportunities to connect people with the High Line Canal’s culture, history, and on-going conservation efforts. If you have a particular interest in the High Line Canal, this is the Walking Movement Leader Training for you!
As a Walk2Connect Walking Movement Leader: You will be prepared to use our grassroots platform to host walks in/near the High Line Canal and in the places you live, work, and play. These training opportunities are also for those who want to help champion greater awareness, education, and passion for the endless benefits of walking culture outside of facilitating walks. Our Walking Movement Leader program is a significant investment from our organization into one’s personal excitement and passion. Our Walking Movement Leaders are the heart, the backbone and the feet on the street for our growing #Lifeat3MPH community. They are an amazing and diverse group of passionate people who touch the lives of many at a 2-3 mile per hour pace.
Basic training provides the skills and support to lead meaningful walks focused on connection with others, with place and with self. We also provide and encourage using a variety of tools to become effective and unique voices in the value of improving communal walking behavior and walkable community design. Walking Movement Leaders also enjoy the benefits of a passionate, fun, and supportive peer group and a host of on-going professional development/training opportunities.
To ensure this investment best serves everyone involved, Walk2Connect accepts basic training applications on a rolling basis. Applicants must fulfill minimum requirements [see below] in addition
We hope you will become a Walking Movement Leader with Walk2Connect and the High Line Canal Conservancy! Please email Chris Englert at: chris (at) walk2connect (dot) com or call/text her at 303 507 7280.
