Come on and walk around the famous area of central Denver known as “Capitol Hill”. Every Monday at 10:00 AM we’ll meet in front of the Aromor Apartments at 1309 Grant Street. We’ll be walking with residents of this affordable housing community. Be prepared to experience the the vitality of this historic neighborhood. We’ll walk rain or shine. Walking Movement Leader: My name is Manley Daniel. I’m a Health Care Navigator for Mercy Housing Corporation. Health and wellness activities comprise a big part of my job at three of Mercy's properties in Denver. I also lead a Tuesday walk at Bluff lake Nature Center in the morning and an afternoon walk at New Freedom Park .
What to Expect: We’ll start in front of Aromor Apartments with a brief description of the neighborhood and introductions of participants at 10:00 am. We should leave no later than 10:10 am. Please come patient as this walk draws from a variety of living communities from different cultures. Please allow for some extra time. After a warm-up we’ll head for Verbena park with a couple of circuits there and will do our best to return by 11:00/11:15 am.
Trip Notes:
-Bring seasonal gear and cameras.-No dogs.-Kids OK if accompanied by adult.
-Restrooms are nearby in apartment complexes, none at park or on way.
-Cancellation Policy: We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as ice, hail, or lightening.
