Mountain Meander {Pine Valley Ranch}

TYPE: W&T | PACE: Conversational | TERRAIN: Groomed trail, but some areas stepping over rocks and tree roots | DISTANCE: Approx. 3.5 miles with about 330 feet of elevation gain.

Walk Description: We will enjoy an amble along the North Fork of the South Platte River, and hopefully, catch some color from the setting sun!

Walking Movement Leader:

Kim Haller has been involved with Walk 2 Connect for 4 years and has been leading walks for 3 years. She loves to lead walks that help people connect with nature, and also hopes to introduce people to the wonderful open space areas in the Denver area.

Schedule and Planning: We will meet at the main trailhead area of the park. There are three parking lot tiers here – park in the lowest if you are able, as this is closest to the trailhead. Pine Valley Ranch Park is at 30400 Crystal Lake Rd, Pine Grove.

Directions: From U.S. Highway 285, turn south on Pine Valley Road (County Road 126) to Crystal Lake Road. Turn right (it’s a sharp turn) and then it is one mile to the park. We will depart no later than 5:45pm from the trailhead.

Trip Notes:

- Dogs are allowed but must be on a non-retractable leash 6 feet or less in length. Please be prepared to pack out any dog waste bags.

-Wear comfortable socks & clothing (pref. non-cotton!), light backpack for snacks and water, and sunglasses/sunscreen. Please layer as needed for the weather.

-Be sure to bring water and consider bringing a camera to take and share photos.
